As Tiger wood steams towards contravention each noteworthy golf record, it is simple to crown him the greatest player in golf description. But, the Golden Bear subdue retains his championship belt. Statistically, Tiger has the certain edge over Jack. The raw facts do not tell the total report. The digit of really competitive opponents, corporal and athletic prowess and longevity give Jack Nicklaus the nod over Tiger wood.
At age 31 Tiger had won 56 tournaments to Jack's 33. Tiger had won 12 Major championships to Nicklaus' eight. wood' tournament winning percentage was 28% as compared to the Bears' 15%. Tiger's Major championship winning percentage is 26%, while Nicklaus comes in at 19%. Jack wins the Majors top ten percentage, 75% to 61%. These data act of kindness Tiger wood soundly, but these facts are deceiving. Tiger wood is not being experienced person, especially on closing round Sundays. Now's golf competitors are not in the same class as those golfers Jack faced. Tigers next-door rivals are Ernie Els, Jim Furyk, Retief Goosen, David Duval, Phil Mickelson, Jose Maria Olazabal and Vijay Singh. These golfers combined have won 15 Major tournaments, 31 PGA tournaments, and 112 International tournaments. Jacks next-door competitors were Arnold Palmer, Billy Casper, Raymond Floyd, Tom Watson, Lee Trevino, Johnny Miller and Gary Player. All of these players are Hall of Fame members and totaled 40 Major championship wins, 252 PGA victories, and 151 International championships. This proves that Tiger doesn't have some unique enormity, but that his rivals have a severe deficiency compared to Jacks competitors.
Tiger has had some splendid performances with mind-boggling consequences. His 15 shot beat down in the 2000 U.S. Open and 12 shot defeat at the 1997 Masters are examples of this. The lack of competitive rivals is evident in these two examples and in all Major championships Tiger has played in. Only Phil Mickelson has won a Major with Tiger in arresting distance (five strokes or less in the rear). In the 2006 Masters, Phil beat Tiger, with wood finishing third. Nicklaus constantly had to compete against superior performances on Sundays to contend in Major championships. In the 1960 Masters, Arnold Palmer shot a closing round 65 to beat Jack by two strokes. Jack had to suffer three crushing defeats at the hands of Tom Watson, especially the 1977 British Open and the 1982 U.S. Open. Lee Trevino defeated Jack with sterling closing rounds in four Major tournaments, and Johnny Millers superb closing round in the 1976 British Open. In these 9 tournaments, Nicklaus' worst closing round score was 71, and he ruined 70, seven era. In his initially 12 Majors, Tigers played 24 Sunday rounds with at least a five-stroke lead and his competitor's stroke mean was 73. Jacks opponents compiled a 70 stroke mean on Sundays. This is an astonishingly decrease digit considering the privileged scores of his era. wood career may be half over and it doesn't look like his rivals will come accurate in talent compared to Jacks competitors.
Jack Nicklaus' image, as "Ohio Fats" was a misnomer. He was a huge sportsperson and built for longevity. Like his Father, Jack was caught up in team sports most of his young life. In High School Jack was a solid catcher on the baseball team, a jogger on the footstep team, and an upright mention all-disorder forwards on the basketball team. His God given ability to feel with his hands accompanied Jacks powerful athletic abilities. Golf guru Jim Tap states, "What separates Jack is the sensitivity with his hands. It is additional than anyone else I have ever seen." Jack had unbelievable resilience, as witnessed by his hours and hours of practice with tremendous focus. There is no denying wood, like Nicklaus has considerable raw potential in his swing. But, Tiger lacks the athletic abilities of Jack. He played an organized sport only once when he ran cross-country in Junior High School. Tiger has said that, at best, he was a junior varsity level sportsperson.
Clearly, Jack Nicklaus is the superior golfer at this time. If Tiger continues his dominance over the next ten years, he will answer Jacks career positively, despite his rival's weak performances.
