How to show girls who you really are?

I like this girl in the end, but I'm extremely shy and ordinarily don't say much. We chat on AIM sometimes, the ice is broken you may maybe say. She knows how I feel about her and that I'm not with her for sex or anything like that, I want more of a link. Anyways, how can I show her that I'm just a nice, caring, and cool self? Must I just keep discussion with her on AIM? I have a few classes with her in school. She likes singing and dogs, I was thinking about dependability something with that as a joke, like a stuffed animal or something. And a additional question, as I was discussion with her I noticed that her folks are devoriced I reflect but not sure. And the dogs live with the additional parent I guess, I don't really wanna question because it's a eerie theme, but do you reflect bringing the dogs up as a theme to talk about is a terrible thought then? Thanks!

Honestly, I reflect you must just IM her and perfectly say: "Hey, can I take you out sometime"? If you don't make the go quick, you will be place in the friend file. And while you are out together, then you force question her a small more about her like for dogs. Then on the following date, maybe buy her a stuffed dog.
